Any heat was gotten by leaving bricks in fires outside, and then bringing in the bricks, which were only used by the priests and other dignitaries.

Climbing the north tower gives a bird’s-eye view of the sculptures and structure of the cathedral — not to mention a kick-ass view of the town and surrounding country. The spiral staircase is narrow and long. It’s very high and very scary.
